My theme and concept focuses on the empowerment of women during World War I, because it’s the first time female efforts were recognized. Therefore, I took inspiration from military garments and expanded them in a modern way. My thought process changed a lot, at the beginning I was clear that I wanted to make garments which make women feel powerful and strong, but I also wanted to push the unconventionality in Mugler by mixing materials. My challenge throughout this project would be constructing the body’s shoulders, hips, and curves. I love how Mugler is constantly pushing new ideas and materials, making their muse feel fearless and powerful.
